Ready for a new foodie program? The Upper Sandusky Community Library’s Patti Davidson and her husband Tony have you covered!

Bring the world to your kitchen when you attend Taste of the World at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23. In this bi-monthly program, they will entertain and introduce you to flavors from around the world using that month's free Spice It Up pack. In January, celebrate the Chinese New Year by learning how to make a Chinese dish using Yum Yum sauce. It’s a recipe sure to live up to its name!

Craft Party is back and digging into the paints in February. Local artist Lisa Andres will be teaching a painting class where attendees will create a winter scene on canvas. There’s no cost so grab a friend and make it an arty-party!

Craft Party will be held in the large meeting room at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9. Registration is required and begins Monday, January 30. Sign up at the library or call 419-294-1345 to reserve a spot. Space is limited.

The book for February is Too Many Valentines written by Margaret McNamara and illustrated by Mike Gordon. “Everyone at Robin Hill School is looking forward to Valentine's Day. Everyone except Neil. He thinks valentines are silly. But on the big day, when Neil doesn't get any valentines at school, he's not sure they're so silly after all!”

The Upper Sandusky Community Library Board of Trustees will convene for a meeting at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 9. The library’s Board of Trustees meets at noon on the second Thursday of each month to discuss library business. The meetings are open to the public.

STEAMpunks: We Love Mo!

Join Miss Lisa and show your love of the books written and illustrated by children’s author Mo Willems in February with a special puppet theater event!

STEAMpunks will be recreating beloved characters from Willems’ books and putting on a puppet show with them. It all happens at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, February 13 in Upper Sandusky Community Library’s large meeting room. STEAMpunks is intended for students in grades 6-12.

Jigsaw Puzzle Contest

Join Cheryl as she takes your jigsaw skills to the next level with a puzzle contest at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 25 in Upper Sandusky Community Library's large meeting room. Teams of two will test their puzzling prowess by attempting to place the most pieces of a 500-piece puzzle in two hours. All the puzzles will be the same to even the playing field. After the two-hour time limit, a grand prize will be awarded.
