More adventure inside! The Plant Swap is back and is ready to help you share those extra seeds, starts, bulbs and houseplants with your friends and neighbors. To donate to the swap, bring your healthy plants, seeds or bulbs along with information regarding the type of plant and its care to the library during the two drop-off days. In Memorial... Mary McLeod Bethune marches as an activist and an educator, and as her reputation grows she becomes a celebrity recognized by U.S. Presidents. Eleanor Roosevelt herself is awestruck and eager to make her acquaintance. Initially drawn together because of their shared belief in women’s rights and the power of education, Mary and Eleanor become fast friends confiding their secrets, hopes and dreams—and holding each other’s hands through tragedy and triumph. This is the story of two different, yet equally formidable women, and the way in which their singular friendship helped form the foundation for the modern civil rights movement. They say there is no water in the City of Lies. They say there are no heroes in the City of Lies. They say there are no friends beyond the City of Lies. But would you believe what they say in the City of Lies? In the City of Lies, they cut out your tongue when you turn thirteen, to appease the terrifying Ajungo Empire and make sure it continues sending water. Tutu will be thirteen in three days, but his parched mother won’t last that long. So Tutu goes to his oba and makes a deal: she provides water for his mother, and in exchange he will travel out into the desert and bring back water for the city. Thus begins Tutu’s quest for the salvation of his mother, his city, and himself. Marcus started the program on March 18, 2021 and completed it on August 14, 2024. He comes to the library quite often with his siblings Meredith, Whitley and Winston. His favorite color is orange and his favorite foods are shrimp alfredo and ice cream. Marcus enjoys jumping on the trampoline but he can’t do it right now because he broke his arm. Marcus is 5 years old and he enjoys playing games. Any child from birth until he or she enters kindergarten can participate. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way.
