Do you have a favorite reading genre but no one to talk about it with? Then make way for the Inglorious Bookworms Book Club. Each month the book club will feature a different genre that you can dive into or skip.

The Inglorious Bookworms will be reading “The Collective” by Alison Gaylin in November. The book “plumbs the dark side of justice and the depths of diabolical revenge in this propulsive novel of psychological suspense.” Copies of the book are available at the library and can be requested at the front desk. It is also available as an ebook and audiobook on Libby.

Craft Party: Snowman Hat Cookie Box

Join Miss Rachel for Craft Party at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8 in the library’s large meeting room. She will show you step-by-step how to make a Snowman Hat Cookie box perfect for gifting to friends. Then make a homey snowman on a rustic wood slice using flannel and a lightbulb.

There’s no cost so grab a friend and make it a party! Registration is required and is now open. Space is limited.

Marion Recorders Consort Concert

The Marion Recorder Consort is back! The group will be playing Christmas music at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9 in the library’s large meeting room. Come enjoy classical music performed by a local group.

Sweet Holiday Workshop

It wouldn't be the holidays without the sweet indulgences of cookies and candy to nibble and share. Join Cheryl and Patti at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13 for an evening of cookie decorating and candy making. All supplies will be provided at the Sweet Holiday Workshop, so invite a friend and make an evening of it! Registration begins on December 1 and is required for attendance.

Alzheimer's Education Program

The northwest chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will be presenting an educational Alzheimer's program at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15 in Upper Sandusky Community Library's large meeting room.

To begin the evening, visitors will learn the difference between normal aging and Alzheimer's, and it's common warning signs. The presenters will discuss the importance of early detection and what to expect during the diagnostic process.

StoryWalk®: Ten on the Sled

Get your family outside to stretch their legs, read a book, and solve a puzzle with Coded StoryWalk®.

The book for January is Ten on the Sled written by Kim Norman and illustrated by Liza Woodruff. “In the land of the midnight sun, all the animals are having fun speeding down the hill on Caribou’s sled. But as they go faster and faster, Seal, Hare, Walrus, and the others all fall off…until just Caribou’s left, only and lonely. Now, a reindeer likes flying, but never alone, so…one through ten, all leap on again!”

Tech Connect

Tech Connect is a program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library where staff will assist library patrons with their technology questions every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Patrons should come prepared with their device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.), a charge cord, and necessary usernames and passwords.
