Get your family outside to stretch their legs, read a book, and solve a puzzle with Coded StoryWalk®.

The book for October is "I Want to Go to the Moon" written by Tom Saunders and illustrated by Cynthia Nugent. “From the time when young Neil Armstrong took his first small steps and spoke his first words, he wanted to travel into space. Although everyone told him it was impossible, he never gave up. Tom Saunders' song tells the story of Armstrong's life, concluding with the day he made that world-changing "giant leap." In this book, Saunders' poetic, inspiring lyrics are brought to life by the illustrations of award-winning Cynthia Nugent.”

Before you begin your walk, stop by the library’s front desk and pick up a Coded Tales worksheet. As you walk from business to business, each page will be marked with a letter that should be written on the worksheet. When you finish the story, you will have spelled out a special message that you can return to the library to receive a prize.

The Coded StoryWalk® begins at the Upper Sandusky Community Library and continues in the windows of the following businesses: A Cut Above, Corner Inn, SURGE, Neumeister’s Candy Shoppe, A.J.’s Heavenly Pizza, Johnson Orthodontics, The Barber Shop, Seitz Financial Services, Community First Bank, First Citizens National Bank, Mustard Seed Market Place, Woven Yoga, Richardson Flower, and Upper Fire Systems.
