Another area child has joined the ranks of fellow readers who have read 1,000 books before kindergarten.

Savannah Thiel completes the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.

Savannah Thiel, daughter of Josh and Kristi Thiel, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. She started the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten on May 29, 2019, and reached her goal on August 15, 2020.

Savannah comes to the library quite often with her mom, dad, and older brother Grady. Several things Savannah likes are playing with her Barbies and walking her dog, Toby. Her favorite animals are cats and dogs. Savannah will be in kindergarten at Union Elementary School starting this fall.

Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way. As you read to your children, they will form a link between books and what they love most – your voice and your closeness.
