Celebrate National Library Week

Join us in honoring all that a public library offers to its community during a week-long celebration of events and giveaways from Monday, April 7 to Friday, April 11!

At Upper Sandusky Community Library, we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you're a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer. Our library provides free Wi-Fi, digital collections through Libby and hoopla, Wi-Fi hotspots, and more, ensuring that everyone has access to resources that educate, inspire, and connect.

Whatever draws you in, the library has something for everyone. Whether you’re preparing for a career change, launching a business, raising a family, or embracing retirement, USCL is here to support your journey. Libraries serve as hubs for learning, creativity, and connection, helping people of all ages explore new ideas and opportunities.

Join us for special National Library Week events:

  • Monday, April 7 – Browse our discarded book section and take up to three home with you for free, no donation required.
  • Tuesday, April 8 – Pick up a free Book Vase Craft Pack to take home and create your own folded masterpiece.
  • Wednesday, April 9 – We'll be hosting a shortened preview of “Free For All: The Public Library,” which chronicles the evolution of the nation’s public libraries, tracing the battles over who can enter, what belongs there, and who makes these decisions. The preview will be followed by a panel discussion with Kyle McColly, Upper Sandusky Mayor; Brenda Koehler, former Bucyrus library director, and Brian Hemminger, Editor of the Daily Chief-Union.
  • Thursday, April 10 – Misplaced your card? Get a new one today for free!
  • Friday, April 11 – Take part in a library Scavenger Hunt and get rewarded with a sweet treat!

This National Library Week, take time to rediscover the library and see how it draws us together as a community. Whether you're visiting for books, resources, or a place to connect, Upper Sandusky Community Library is here for you.

First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
