Kids and their parents will follow Miss Jill as she rides Dino the dinosaur, stopping at businesses to read pages of an exciting dinosaur-themed book. Then, they'll return to the library to decorate dinosaur cookies, create dinosaur crafts, and hatch their own mini-dinosaur! The fun continues throughout the month with a weekly dinosaur scavenger hunt and lots of dinosaur-themed books for you to read at home! Have a sweet start to the season and take part in Miss Jill's Gingerbread House Workshop on Nov. 27th and 28th. Participants of all ages will be given a cardboard house and frosting and shown how to decorate their very own gingerbread house to add to their holiday decor. Bonnie Korody-McClain, daughter of Taryn and Matt, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at USCL. Bonnie started the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten on July 27, 2022 and reached the goal on September 27, 2023. She comes to the library quite often with her Mom and is a regular at Story Times. Several things Bonnie enjoys are playing soccer, coming to the library and playing inside. Her favorite foods are carrots, chicken nuggets and French fries with catsup. She is 3 years old and likes the color pink. Any child from birth until he or she enters kindergarten can participate in the program. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way. As you read to your children, they will form a link between books and what they love most – your voice and your closeness.
