Not only does it help introverts realize their strengths, but it helps others understand how to interact with them. Michigan vs the Boys by Carrie S. Allen Krystal says: A must read for girls shattering the glass ceiling in their sport. I can’t wait to read it again. The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo Krystal says: As someone who has a hard time reading poetry, listening to this audiobook, read by the author, was a great way to get past that hurdle. This book was impactful, beautiful, and, most of all, important. USCL’s Heritage Room provides a way to explore this rich legacy of family that connects the residents of Wyandot County past to present. Offering hundreds of resources re- garding local history, the Heritage room is open to the public daily for use in genea- logical and historical research. One of the first steps in researching family history is often looking up obituaries. “I started with the old newspapers on microfilm,” says li- brary patron, Marilyn McClain regarding the extensive research she has done for her family tree. Local newspapers dating from 1845 to the present are available for viewing through microfilm and offer not only information on births and deaths, but also a wealth of insights into how people lived, local issues, and the values of the time. For those who are out of the area, a request for obituary research can had by filling out an obituary information form available on our website or call to have a form sent to you. Sharing information is the life blood of this type of family research. The Family Register Research book in the Heritage room allows you to submit the family members or family name that you are investigating and leave your contact information for those who might share in that branch of the family. Local historians have also lovingly compiled volumes of family history notebooks full of pictures and histories of regional families, Though unable to be checked out, all materials are permitted to be copied. The Wyandot County local history section of the Heritage room has such of- ferings as local church records and bulle- tins, yearbooks, materials on Wyandotte and other Native tribes, records of county veterans, and more! Honoring Our Heritage Book Talk is Back! Whether you’re a reader of the current bestseller or a die hard classics connoisseur, BookTalk discussion leader Krystal Smalley wants to hear from you! Krystal, an Ohio University alum and former journalist, says,“ I've been a romance read- er for most of my life, picking up Nora Roberts' Montana Sky as a pre-teen simply because I was bored and didn't have anything else to read. Romance hooked me after that.” Since then she explored many genres and is currently exploring the world of science fiction. “I crave anything that features a strong female character leading her crew into danger - preferably in space because space is awesome.” Join this virtual program and share the books you love at the next Book Talk on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. The link to this meeting can be found on our website.
