October 9, 2023 - Ashleigh and Jesse Bair, the children of Ryan and Laura Bair, have completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at Upper Sandusky Community Library.

A hand holding a polaroid picture of a girl and boy smiling and holding a sign. The names Ashleigh and Jesse are written on the photo. Text to the right says I read 1,000 books before kindergarten.

Ashleigh and Jesse started the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program on August 3, 2022, and reached their goal on August 8, 2023. Several things 4-year-old Ashleigh likes are princess books, the color purple, riding her bike, and chicken nuggets. Two-year-old Jesse likes tractors, trucks, and Nibbles books, the color red, playing at the water table, and hamburgers.

Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way. As you read to your children, they will form a link between books and what they love most – your voice and your closeness.
