Beginning Monday, October 4, Grab-N-Go Meals will be available at the Upper Sandusky Community Library for youth up to age 18.

For the 2021-2022 school year, libraries are participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to provide afterschool meals for children and teens. Children’s Hunger Alliance helps sponsor CACFP and has partnered with the library to provide services needed to ensure children receive a healthy meal after school. Youth can visit USCL from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up a Grab-N-Go Meal.

The Children’s Hunger Alliance is a nonprofit based in Columbus that is committed to improving the well-being of children who struggle with hunger throughout the state. The nonprofit helps provide healthy meals to hungry children, advocates for the welfare of children, and teaches nutrition and physical education.

The CACFP is a federal program that provides reimbursements for meals served to children and youth participating in afterschool care programs, as well as children residing in emergency shelters and adults over the age of 60 or living with a disability and enrolled in daycare facilities.
