Get your family outside to stretch their legs, read a book, and solve a puzzle with Coded StoryWalk®.

The book for October is Pumpkin Heads! by Wendell Minor. Pumpkin Heads! is “One of the best-loved activities of the year is picking out your favorite pumpkin and carving a smiling, frowning, silly, or scary face -- a pumpkin head! October is here. It's time to pick a pumpkin! On Halloween every pumpkin becomes a pumpkin head. Some are big. Some are small. Pumpkin heads can be found in the strangest places.”

Before you begin your walk, stop by the library’s front desk and pick up a Coded Tales worksheet. As you walk from business to business, each page will be marked with a letter that should be written on the worksheet. When you finish the story, you will have spelled out a special message that you can return to the library to receive a prize.

The Coded StoryWalk® begins at the Upper Sandusky Community Library and continues in the windows of the following businesses: A Cut Above, Corner Inn, SURGE, Neumeister’s Candy Shoppe, Fay Family Dental Care, A.J.’s Heavenly Pizza, Johnson Orthodontics, The Barber Shop, Community First Bank, First Citizens National Bank, Mustard Seed Market Place, Woven Yoga, and Richardson Flower.
