Gabi read 1,000 books before Kindergarten

Gabi Choice, daughter of Ciata Choice, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library.

A hand holding a polaroid of a little Black girl smiling with a sign that says 1000 books. Text beside the photo says I Read 1,000 Books before Kindergarten.

Gabi started the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program on Dec. 27, 2022, and reached the goal on Feb. 4, 2024. She comes to the library quite often with her mom and is a regular at StoryTime. Gabi, who is four years old, enjoys playing softball and riding her bike. Her favorite food is oranges, her favorite color is pink, and she likes reading the Bizzy Bear series.

Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way. As you read to your children, they will form a link between books and what they love most – your voice and your closeness.
